Fu@k! I Killed The Director is a high-energy, 50 minute farcical play-within-a-play. The story follows two actors attempting to deliver their adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet in the immediate aftermath of accidentally killing their director.
Born from a desire to elicit laughter and foster connection through physical comedy, FIKTD deconstructs traditional theatre, instead utilises the universally understood language of play to bring our audience into the show. Using the death of the director to signal the end of doing things in a conventional way, the show is about what creative practice might look like when there is no hierarchy to navigate. And everything we do on stage to answer that question is beautiful, ridiculous and celebratory.
